Ambassador Noah Mamet met with Denise Koninckx, Academic Director of AMICANA, who was selected to participate in the IVLP Gold Stars exchange program. The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. The IVLP 2015 Gold Stars project is a special initiative that invites IVLP alumni to participate in a second exchange experience in order to re-connect with U.S. counterparts from their first project and develop new connections in their field of interest. It is also an opportunity to raise visibility of alumni accomplishments achieved as a direct result of their initial exchange experience.

Ms. Koninckx first traveled to the U.S. with the IVLP in 2006 and has been a key partner with the Embassy in American English language teaching for over a decade.  At AMICANA, her leadership has greatly increased Argentine knowledge and understanding of U.S. culture in her community.

The IVLP Gold Stars Program highlights the 75th anniversary of the U.S. Department of State’s International Exchange Programs. Ms. Koninckx is one of only six people selected worldwide to participate. She will visit the cities of Washington, D.C., Boston, MA, Cincinnati, OH, San Francisco, CA, Sacramento, CA, and Boulder, CO. Her trip can be followed through the program blog.
