April 20, 2020

Location:  Argentina

Event:  There are still seats remaining on the Eastern Airlines flight from Buenos Aires to Miami, Florida on Saturday, April 25, at 11:30 a.m. from Ministro Pistarini International Airport (Ezeiza). Please monitor https://goeasternair.com for the latest information on the flight and ticket availability. U.S. citizens interested in departing on this flight will need to book directly with Eastern Airlines. *The flight is subject to change.*

For U.S. citizens who live in the United States, this may be one of your last opportunities to return until regular international commercial air service reopens in Argentina. If you need to leave Argentina, you should strongly consider booking this flight, otherwise you should be prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period.

Most airlines have extended their suspensions of international flights to May. If you believe you have an international flight out of Buenos Aires in May, please call your airline to confirm.

Please reference our Embassy webpage on COVID-19 for the list of required documents and permissions required by the Argentine government to travel to the airport and options on traveling to Buenos Aires from the provinces. You must submit your request to travel 60 (sixty) hours ahead of your departing the provinces or for the airport. Only travelers with confirmed international flight reservations may travel from the provinces to the Buenos Aires metropolitan area 24 hours in advance of the flight. If your travel to Buenos Aires will take longer than 24 hours, please note that in your request.

Aerolíneas Argentinas has announced new special flights from Rio Gallegos and Ushuaia to Buenos Aires Aeroparque through April 25. You can check the schedule of departures and book directly through Aerolíneas Argentinas at www.aerolineas.com.ar.

The use of face masks in cars and trains is required in all areas of national jurisdiction.

The national quarantine that began on March 20 has been extended through April 26. Argentine authorities may further extend the quarantine beyond this date.  Limited quarantine exemptions include movement to obtain food and medical care and travel to the international airport for ticketed passengers. A list of exceptions can be found here: https://www.argentina.gob.ar/coronavirus/aislamiento/exceptuados.
