On August 20 and 21, 2015, AMICANA, the Binational Center (BNC) in Mendoza, hosted the 35th annual Argentine Binational Centers executive directors’ meeting. BNC representatives from cities throughout Argentina attended this two day annual encounter.

Counselor for Public Affairs Thomas Mesa participated in the opening ceremony and also gave a presentation entitled, “Education: A Key to Strengthening Ties between our Two Countries.”

Consul General Brendan O’Brien also attended and discussed consular issues, and the Embassy’s Social Media Team gave a virtual presentation on the use of social media for the BNCs.

This gathering enabled representatives of 12 of the 14 BNCs in Argentina to share best practices and experiences in areas of academics, administration, cultural exchanges, library services, using technology to enhance English language teaching, and education advising.
