The Fulbright Commission held its traditional Fulbright Orientation Day at the Argentine American Cultural Exchange Institute on July 3rd. More than 100 scholars travelling to the United States to conduct master’s and Ph. D. studies at U.S. universities participated in the event. A group of English instructors who will teach at U.S. universities through the Fulbright Program also participated in the event.
The scholars come from nineteen Argentine provinces and they will participate in educational programs at universities located on the East and West Coasts and in the Midwest. Many of the scholarships are co-financed under agreements signed with the Argentine Ministry of Education, the Argentine Chief of Staff’s Office, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, the City of Buenos Aires Council of Magistrates, and the Government of San Juan.
Chargé D’Affaires Kevin Sullivan participated in the orientation and encouraged scholars to continue sharing their talents and use their creativity to make a positive impact for the benefit of their society. On behalf of the Department of State and the U.S. Embassy, he wished them well and to make the most of this experience and return to Argentina proud of their personal growth. Mr. Sullivan was accompanied by The Director of the Fulbright Commission, Norma Gonzalez, during the opening remarks.
