Chargé d’Affaires Sullivan Attends AMIA Ceremony

Chargé d’Affairs Kevin Sullivan attended the ceremony commemorating the 20th anniversary of the attack against the Argentine Jewish Mutual Association (AMIA).

Chargé Sullivan said: “Today marks the 20th anniversary of the tragic bombing of the AMIA Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires, in which 85 people lost their lives. The government and people of the United States understand the sense of pain and loss experienced by the families of the victims, and we salute both their resilience and the strength of their community in Argentina. We believe it remains essential to identify those responsible for this terrible act and bring them to justice.  This somber anniversary serves as a reminder of why we cannot rest in our efforts to combat global terrorist networks, and to promote peace, tolerance and mutual understanding in our global community.”
