This week ICANA, the Binational Center (BNC) in Buenos Aires, is hosting the 34th annual Argentine Binational Centers board members meeting and the 14th annual Academic Directors meeting. BNC representatives from cities throughout Argentina are attending. Public Affairs Officers, English Language Fellows, and the Regional English Language Officer are participating in the BNC meetings, giving presentations, leading discussions and also learning about BNC members’ concerns, challenges, and best practices.
As part of the BNC meeting, participants visited the U.S. Ambassador’s official residence, the Bosch Palace, on August 27 and met with Chargé d’Affaires Kevin Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan praised the over 80-year partnership between the Embassy and the BNCs, thanked them for their work, and renewed the Embassy’s commitment to enhancing people-to-people communication and the sharing of cultures, both of which are at the core of what sustain the bonds of friendship between Argentineans and Americans. After meeting the Chargé d’Affaires, the invitees enjoyed a guided tour of the Bosch Palace.
