Climate Change: A Global Commitment

U.S. Chargé d’ Affaires Kevin Sullivan was the keynote speaker at the Conference on Climate Change: Current Situation and Perspectives held at the University of Buenos Aires, School of Law as a lead-up to the UN Climate Summit.

The Program “Climate Change Law” is carried out by an interdisciplinary team at the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires in collaboration with researchers from various institutions with the aim to link the different activities, projects, organizations and researchers related to this initiative.

During the event, the Chargé highlighted: “President Obama considers climate change to be the most important challenge of our time and one where we all have a role to play. We must all contribute to transforming the global economy to one based on clean energy. That means we must all focus on this priority. Domestic policy, international negotiations, research, and innovation all revolve around our core imperative to break the link between growth and burning fossil fuels.”
