Community Service – Tu Cuadradito Abriga

Throughout Argentina, there are many charitable organizations who participate each year in a project where men, women and children knit small squares that are joined together to create blankets for people in need during this winter season: “Tu cuadradito abriga.”

This project is being launched in the classrooms of  several of our binational centers. The studentsare being taught to knit while practicing their English and learning the importance of supporting those in need through community service activities. In addition, the U.S. Embassy community gathered and knitted squares to contribute to this worthwhile outreach project.

These binational centers are drop off locations for completed squares:

  • ALICANA – San Martin 2293, Santa Fe
  • ARICANA – Buenos Aires 934,  Rosario
  • ICANA (sede centro) Maipú 672, CABA
  • ICANA (sede Belgrano) 3 de Febrero 821, CABA
