Cultural Attaché Visits Educational and Cultural Organizations in Mendoza

Cultural Attaché Christine Meyer travelled to Mendoza on March 5-7 to visit educational and cultural organizations.

On Thursday, Ms. Meyer visited the National University of Cuyo and met with the President and representatives from the office of International Relations and Regional University Integration.  During the meeting, the Cultural Attaché talked with the group about the possibility of increasing educational exchanges under the “100,000 Strong in the Americas” initiative.  Ms. Meyer also visited the Town Hall of Mendoza and met with the Secretary of Culture to share ideas about cultural opportunities in the city.  Later in the afternoon, Ms. Meyer met with alumni of U.S. Department of State exchange programs.

On Friday, Ms. Meyer accompanied Ambassador Noah Mamet on his visit to the AMICANA Bi-national center.  During the visit, they had the opportunity to meet students and alumni of the Access English program and to see their American Gallery project, as well as to speak with members of AMICANA’s Board, teachers and staff members.  Ms. Meyer also met with local leaders and artists, and she was able to experience the traditional Grape Harvest Festival on March 7.
