Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Buenos Aires, Argentina (June 21, 2023)

Event:  The U.S. Embassy is aware of reports of protests in the city and province of Jujuy and that the Jujuy airport is operating with limited operations.  There are also reports of road blockages in the city and province.

U.S. citizens should practice vigilance and remember that demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.

Actions to Take:

• Avoid the area.
• Carry a photocopy of your U.S. passport or other valid identification.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Monitor local media for updates.
• Keep a low profile
