Embassy Community Welcomes New English Language Fellow, Anna McCourt

The Embassy welcomes its newest English Language Fellow, Ms. Anna McCourt, to Argentina. Ms. McCourt will be hosted for ten months at ISICANA the binational center in Salta. The English Language Fellow program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Argentina, and it is designed to provide consultation, training and assistance to the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching community in Argentina.

On February 27 and 28, 2018, as a part of his introduction to Argentina, Anna McCourt was welcomed by Embassy officials, PAS staff and visited the Embassy. Then, she visited ICANA BNC Buenos Aires, where she met a group of EFL contacts and alumni of Embassy-funded EFL exchanges programs including representatives from ICANA, the Fulbright Commission, the Ministry of Education of the city of Buenos Aires, and the EFL professional association, ARTESOL. The group of invitees provided insight into the EFL environment in Argentina, and highlighted the importance of cooperation between U.S. and Argentine professionals in English language teaching.
