Embassy Welcomes Christine Meyer, the New Cultural Affairs Officer

The Embassy hosted a reception in honor of Christine Meyer, the new Cultural Affairs Officer. The event served as a warm welcome for the Foreign Service Officer, who has over 10 years of public diplomacy experience.

Public Affairs Officer Thomas Mesa gave remarks, formally introducing Ms. Meyer to the group of cultural affairs contacts and friends who gathered at the Bosch Palace.

Ms. Meyer is excited to work collaboratively with the local community to achieve shared goals. The majority of her career has been spent working on Public Affairs issues in the Middle East and she is happy to be back on the South American continent, where her career first began. During her first assignment in Guyana, she revived their Public Affairs section while performing consular duties.  Since then, she has served in Jerusalem, Cairo, and Saudi Arabia. Most recently, she worked in the Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs as the Public Diplomacy Desk Officer for the Caribbean.
