Emergency Appointments will only be granted at the Consular Section’s discretion. The following is a list of circumstances that may be considered for expedite appointments.
a. An immediate relative’s death, grave illness or life-threatening accident taking place in the United States, include the name, relationship, place, and description of the situation, diagnosis, and contact information for the attending physician or funeral home.
b. Urgent medical treatment for the applicant or their minor child. Should provide evidence of confirmed appointment, diagnosis, and/or doctor’s note.
c. An application for a student/exchange visitor (F/M/J) visa or petition-based visa that has a start date earlier than the first available visa appointment.
d. An unexpected need to travel to the United States for urgent business, where your physical presence is required. The need to travel must be urgent and have specific dates and specific reasons. This does not include regular conferences, congresses, or business meetings.
e. An unexpected visit that is of significant cultural, political, journalistic, athletic, or economic importance.
Please complete the emergency appointment request for evaluation by logging into your account in the Visa Information system and pulling down the “Group Actions” menu. Please complete and fill out the application form with a detailed explanation of the emergency situation that relates to the list of circumstances described.
If your request for an earlier interview is granted, you will be expected to bring to the interview:
1- Proof to support your stated emergency
2- The forms and supporting documents normally required.
