On Wednesday, April 9th, the U.S. Embassy in Argentina launched its new “English @ the Embassy” series with the first event. Over 100 students, ages 13 to 15, and their teachers from six different schools from the city and greater Buenos Aires attended.
During the event, the audience enjoyed an interactive presentations highlighting unique aspects of United States culture through festivals. They also received a tour of the Bosch Palace, the United States Ambassador’s Residence, from Embassy officers, and presentations on the importance of English language learning from the Embassy’s Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Tim Stater, and Daniel Politi, the Local News Editor at the Buenos Aires Herald, as well as a presentation on study in the United States from representatives of EducationUSA.
The student participants enjoyed the three-hour event, particularly the opportunity to engage their language skills with native English speakers from the United States, as well as to learn more about United States culture.
