PAS supported the attendance of 11 coordinators and teachers from Access program in Argentina to attend the first English Access Teachers’ Workshop in Montevideo, Uruguay with more than 40 coordinators and teachers from Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. Held from April 7-9, participants shared best practices and lessons learned from current Access programs focusing on classroom dynamics, summer enhancement activities, use of information technology, and public speaking in the classroom. Argentine participants teach at eight different Binational Centers. Regional English Language Officer (RELO) Brad Horn and Brazil RELO Rick Rosenberg facilitated the workshop and led most of the training sessions.
US Ambassador to Uruguay Julissa Reynoso greeted the participants at a cocktail reception where she emphasized the spirit of understanding of the program among all Latin American countries.
