U.S. TREASURY SECRETARY JACOB J. LEW ON NEW TAX INFORMATION EXCHANGE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES AND ARGENTINA

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of the Treasury released a statement following the signing of a new tax information exchange agreement between the United States and Argentina today in Buenos Aires.

“This agreement furthers Argentina’s reintegration in the global economy and marks an important next step in the new era of the U.S.-Argentina relationship,” said Treasury Secretary Lew.  “The tax information exchange agreement will allow for important collaboration between our two countries’ tax enforcement efforts.  It is our hope that such actions will make a meaningful contribution to the efforts of President Macri’s government to rebuild institutions, reestablish credibility, improve governance, and implement structural reforms.”
