Park cleanup to celebrate Earth Day

On Earth Day, April 22, 2016, the Environment, Science, Technology and Health section and Embassy community volunteers assisted Park Rangers to clean up the nature reserve Parque Natural Municipal Ribera Norte. School-age and grown-up volunteers helped haul almost 30 bags of trash that washed up on the banks of the Rio de la Plata after weeks of rain. Ribera Norte’s Park Rangers remove the trash on a regular basis in order to ensure a pristine habitat for the hundreds of species of protected plant and wildlife in the park. It was a worthwhile and fun effort for all on Earth Day. You too can help protect the environment. Next time you throw away a plastic bottle, think about where it will end up.
