Scholarship Agreement between MIT and UBA

The University of Buenos Aires signed an agreement with the Special Program for Urban and Regional Studies (SPURS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to promote academic exchange and professional training. The Fulbright Commission, with the support of the US Embassy in Argentina, will administer the program. The agreement was signed by Thomas Mesa, as Chair of the Fulbright Board of Directors, and Chancellor Dr. Alberto Edgardo Barbieri for the University of Buenos Aires. On Thursday, February 12, the Director of the SPURS Program Dr. Bishwapriya Sanyal will sign the agreement at MIT.

The agreement will make possible 2 scholarships per year for UBA graduates to attend classes at MIT.

The agreement helps promote mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchange programs. All within the framework of the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Program sponsored by the United States government and launched by US President Barack Obama.
