To mark the 25th Anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), on July 15 the U.S. Embassy brought together special education teachers from the State of New York and representatives of Argentine schools for children with special needs.
The group of 14 U.S. teachers were sponsored by New York University (NYU) through the Astor Fellowship program to carry out a 10-day trip to Argentina to learn about Argentina’s public and private special education systems.
To generate professional exchange in the field of special education, the Embassy hosted the Astor Fellows and representatives of prestigious Argentine institutions and foundations that support children with special needs. During the meeting the participants learned more about the tools used by each other to improve the quality education and services to this vulnerable population.
