Specialist in Debate Competitions Visited Buenos Aires

Randall Martinez, a debate coach at the University of Miami, visited Argentina from August 11th to 15th for a series of presentations about debate competitions in schools and universities.

Martinez was invited by the U.S. Embassy in Argentina and has extensive experience in debate. Prior to his current position at the University of Miami, Randall Martinez trained students in various high school programs, including the Christopher Columbus High School, Our Lady of Lourdes Academy, Lake Mary High School, Monsignor Pace High School and Carrollton of the Sacred Heart. As a debate coach, he received the National Association of Speech and Debate “Diamond Coach” award.

His agenda in Argentina included, among other activities, debate workshops in the city of Buenos Aires, Malvinas Argentinas and Berazategui. During his week in Buenos Aires, Martinez also spoke at the National Association of Political Analysts and the Office of the Defender of the City of Buenos Aires. Likewise, he participated in a movie debate session organized by the Friends of America Association at the Argentine American Cultural Institute (ICANA).
