On May 7, U.S. Ambassador Noah Mamet opened the WEAmericas Tech Camp in Argentina. The event was organized by NGO Voces Vitales with the support of the U.S. Embassy. During the camp, 85 women leaders from different walks of society and the economy sector received training and new tools to improve competitiveness in their respective organizations.
“We know first-hand that entrepreneurship is clearly a significant option that can provide women economic independence, greater personal autonomy and a way to overcome discriminatory practices,” said the Ambassador as he opened the two-day camp held in his residency. Tech Camp participants had the opportunity to update their knowledge in areas like crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, social media, online marketing online, e-commerce, mobile money, cloud computing and the power of Web search engines.
