The Embassy Hosted a Reception in Honor of PAO Thomas Mesa and ACAO Katherine Ordoñez

On September 25, the Embassy hosted a reception in honor of Public Affairs Officer Thomas Mesa and Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer Katherine Ordoñez. The reception served as a warm welcome for the two Foreign Service officers, who have previous experience serving in Latin America.

Having an extensive career in Foreign Service, Thomas Mesa’s first overseas assignment was in Chile. Since then, he has served as Press Officer in Nicaragua as well as Romania, and he most recently served as Public Affairs Counselor at the U.S. Embassies in Panama and Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Katherine Ordoñez is also familiar with the Latin America region. After joining the State Department in 2010, she served in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She comes to Buenos Aires after an assignment in Islamabad, Pakistan where she served as a Consular Officer in American Citizen Services.
